Day 5 - Reflections and Questions

Post your reflections on using the module you will develop in the classroom environment. How will you use this module as a tool to integrate technology standards in a classroom?

We are planning to use Newton's Laws integrating video and computer components. I have used technology in classroom assignments. This activity will allow me to enhance the presentation and provide more technology information.

I absolutely, totally enjoyed the afternoon presentation. Pete is not only an exceptional instructor because of the experiments/demos, but also because he has the "gift" of a non-judgemental attitude towards others. Remarkable.

I have learned so much using the program-you could use it daily to further advance students in many ways. For a math instructor, it is an invaluable tool.

I thought the afternoon presentation was awesome. I would love to be in Pete's Chem. class.
He has so much energy and so many good idea's i loved all the experiments and plan to use several of them in my classroom next year.

Today we have learned to rotate objects and to create a revolutionary path in which they follow. It is a time consuming task, but will be very worthwhile with the students.

The lab activity in the afternoon was enjoyable.

Anytime I can teach a new technology concept to my students I think it is fun. The way many students like to play video games I think that our module will excite the kids and let them get a taste of what it would take to create and program their own game.

Since I teach technology and our module is based on learning a programming code, the project will reach many of my content standards which are all technology based.

This module will be a great tool to implement technology into my classroom. First, it will give all students a look at VRML (which I am certain will be something new and exciting for them), I can use our new whiteboard to display the 3-D model, and I can get the students into the computer labs to complete the inquiry-based activities from the exploratorium website.

I will use this module to introduce circles to my Geometry because students will be able to relate the information. Technology is a great way to introduce new information and help students to understand the different concepts.

I plan on using this module to replace an existing module and help introduce 3d modeling for the students in ech unit.

In teaching Newton's Laws, we plan to integrate video clips, VRML sites, computer skills, PowerPoint, and graphing activities to use technology in the classroom.

I think that our module is going to help students understand transformations much better. Students will be looking at objects in 3-D instead of on a piece of paper.

The module that we are doing will allow the students to program the basic vrml shapes on the computer then see them in 3D. After they have done this the students will do a hands on project testing the strenght of the shapes.

I am making a model of the solar system and of an atom. I don't think that I will be able to use the solar system in my 9th or 10th grade science classes, but I can use the model of the atom with my 9th grade, 10th grade and my chemistry classes. I think that I will show them my model and have them build their own models of assigned elements so we can discuss the differences. I think that I could also use these with the VSPR models that I have my class do. This would be better than having them build them out of marshmallows and toothpicks.

I will use the entire module while teaching Newton's Laws. Since it incorporates additional technology that I've not used, I think it will be very useful.

today we learned how to add texture, rotate, and revolve our solar system. We have learned so much it is hard on a friday afternoon to absorb it all.
