Day 4 - Reflections and Questions
What is your group's module topic? What advantages do you see to using an online collaboration tool (Taskstream) to develop your module? Can you forsee ways to use Taskstream in the future?

The advantage of using an online collaboration tool is the ability to sit at home and work as a team.
The topic of our unit is "Eye Spy: An Interactive Exploration of the Human Eye." The main advantage of Taskstream is the convenience of working collaboratively--anywhere, anytime. Another advantage is that many tools are incorporated into one user-friendly website. In the future, this would be a great site for Middle School teachers to use when planning multi-disciplinary units for 21st century learning.
All of the information on the VRML was wonderful and getting to see how the lights and rotations of different animations is exciting. I also enjoyed finding new was of collaborating on line. There was alot of information to retrieve today but it is very useful
We are doing 'Motion, Motion; Why the Motion?
Advantages to online collaboration are working with someone from a distance, saving time and gas money. I can see a great use of Taskstream for the classroom teacher.
The topic for our unit is "Eye Spy: An Interactive Exploration of the Human Eye." The advantage of using task stream is that you can write and share your lesson plans to others and also get feedback.
If I want feedback on a lesson plan or I just someone else to voice there opinion about my lesson.
My groups topc is the periodic table. I can see great advantages to using taskstream, especially in collaborations where you can get feedback from a wide variety of sources.
I think that using the online callaboration tool gives you the ability to work as a team no matter where you are. It doen't matter if you are on vacation or if you are just sitting in your livingroom. I think that Taskstream is a great tool that could be used by a teacher everyday. They would be able to create wonderful lesson plans quickly and easily.
Our topic is Newton's Laws. An advantage to Taskstream is the ease in using this template. I can use this for lesson plans in the future as well. The ability to collaborate with each other instantly adds to the teaming aspect of this work.
My group’s module topic is Create Your Game: Learning Basic VRML.
Using Taskstream to develop our modules can provide instant feedback from people that know what is going on. Provided that classmates check their accounts pretty often, this could be extremely useful and time saving. With feedback from classmates you know that the comments are coming from people that know what is wanted and needed. The fact that it is online helps allow people to work at their own pace, during the time of day that is best for them and will allow faster feedback then if we had to wait until class meets again. Pretty cool tool for this project.
Taskstream would be a very useful tool for schools if the principal would check lesson plans online. That way it would save money for the school in paper cost, allow principals to see the lesson plans anytime they want, teachers would not have to worry about turning in the plans and would not have to worry about losing them if they use the same ones from semester to semester. As for using Taskstream in the future for myself…I am not sure I would pay to keep the program. While it is very nice and easy to use, there is a teacher in one of the northern counties that has built a lesson plan template much like this (not as fancy) with the CSOs built in that works pretty well and is free. If I was going to use something like this for just doing my plans I would probably go with the free one.
Our module topic is based upon the periodic table. We will use the VRML program and some related activities.
I have used task stream to locate standards and to create a rubric to evaluate the students.
I will use it in the future most likely in many situations.
